beginning to decorate their work
Debbie gave a demonstration of how to use the liquid underglaze colours. These are colours that you can paint onto clay before or after the first firing. All of the pieces will need a glaze to go over the colour, to make it shiny and bright. This glaze will be put on after the bisque firing.
All of the work that the girls are making is earthenware. This means that the clay will be fired up to 1000 degrees celsius for its bisque firing and 1100 on its glaze firing.
